This Week Currently, Volume 1

Lately my life has settled into a routine of work, working out, and reading and generally being so exhausted that I cannot stay awake past 8 p.m. on a good night. And after sitting at my computer at work all day, the last thing I want to do when I get home is turn on the computer. So I have not had a lot to write about and even when I do, I just cannot muster the desire to turn my computer on.

But then I was reading a new blog and loved the weekly Sunday Currently link-up feature which is just a series of life observations of what's happening now using comments that follow phrases like Reading, Wishing, Wanting, etc. There are so many tiny things that happen over the course of the week that this seems like the perfect way to summarize it all.

Except my Sunday Currently will be more of a This Week Currently because if I wrote about what I was doing on Sunday it would consistently be "Reading all the books. Drinking way too much coffee. Napping like a pro. Wearing yoga pants." because that is my every Sunday. I also deleted a few of the topics and added a few of my own. So basically I am the worst blog linker-upper ever.

{And I will even share a random pic or two. This was the bread basket at Cesco Osteria where I brunched over the weekend. And yes, it was as delicious as it looked.}

Reading Divergent. It has been sitting unread on my Kindle for almost a year. I bought it because everyone told me it was better than the Hunger Games. And then I never read it because, um, people are you insane? Is there anything better than the Hunger Games? Turns out, there is. I plowed through this book in an afternoon. And still cannot stop thinking about it.

Eating brunch at Cesco Osteria with some blogging friends. The food was amazing. The service left so much to be desired but brunch is new there so hopefully they will figure it out; it's a great space with great food. I want to try the Happy Hour soon!

Listening to the new Nelly song, Hey Porsche. And wondering if I have been pronouncing the word Porsche wrong my whole life. Not that I say the word a lot. Or ever.

Thinking that I am pretty lucky to have friends who give me their extra produce when they unexpectedly have to go out of town (Thanks, Nick & Amanda!) and save me from myself and my ability to forget to go grocery shopping. This problem is reaching epic proportions.

Smelling the Winter by Bath and Body Works candle on my coffee table. I lit my last one over the weekend and I sincerely hope that by the time I burn through it, winter is over.

Wishing for warm weather soon. I love that it is now light outside when I walk home from the Metro at night. But that daylight has been accompanied by bitter cold and wind. I am at the point that when I glance at the forecast, I want to scream and cry "I can't do this anymore!!!"

Laughing  at the fact that my class reunion this year is a camping trip with paintball. It is like they picked activities to guarantee that I would not attend. Camping? Seriously, I cannot remember the last time I walked on grass.

Wearing Ginger Biscuit by Jo Malone. It has been so long since I have worn a fragrance. Estee Lauder's Spellbound was my signature scent from age 14 until 25. Then my bottle ran out and I never replaced it. I still catch a whiff of Spellbound when I go through some of my old papers and clothing. I decided it was time for a new signature scent and I adore this one. Which was unexpected because I am not the biggest fan of ginger.

Loving that Psych is back with a new season this week. This is the only show that consistently makes me laugh so hard. (Seriously, Big Bang Theory, what happened to the funny?)

Wanting these boots. Even though I am certain I would look like a-little-bit-too-old-to-be-a-Mumford-and-Sons-groupie if I were to ever wear them. But don't think I don't already have a-little-bit-too-old-to-be-a-Mumford-and-Sons-groupie outfit planned for if I ever acquired these boots.

Needing a new eyeliner. Anyone have a long-time favorite to recommend? Drug store brands are totally okay and actually preferred!

Feeling excited to get back to Pilates. I have taken a bit of a break from it and my core strength reflects that break. With a new studio opening in my neighborhood this week, I am excited to get back on the reformer! Hopefully it just like riding a bike.

Clicking on one too many free font websites in search of the perfect font for a project. Asking me to pick one font is like putting me in a room with a thousand pairs of pretty shoes and saying I can only wear one. It is just too hard!

And that's my week currently.
