I cannot remember the last time I ate a Chips Ahoy cookie. I grew up in a house where fudge-striped cookies and sandwich cookies ruled the cookie jar so I never really developed the taste or craving for them. But that might change because if you put Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in anything, I am going to like it and crave it. And that includes Chips Ahoy which seems to be experimenting with variations on their classic flavors (I have another Chips Ahoy Snack of the Week coming up soon. Chips Ahoy, it's the new Oreo, apparently.)
Leave me alone with a package of these on a crappy day and it is not going to end well. They were amazing. And probably really easy to replicate from scratch given that mini baking Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are now sold. But there is a certain flavor to store-bought, packaged chocolate chip cookie that you cannot replicate in a recipe. Ah, the flavor of preservatives. Why do they have to be so delicious.
If these ended up in your cookie jar, it wouldn't be the worst thing. Related, do people still have cookie jars? I kind of want one.
Snack of the Week is a weekly feature where I profile the best snack that I am eating. Equal parts healthy and indulgent are how I aspire (and sometimes fail) to eat my way through life and I try to reflect in these snacks. All snacking is done with a budget-friendly mindset as well. To read previous Snacks of Week, click here.
If you have any suggestions for snacks you would like me to try and profile, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Unless it is super weird or expensive, I will probably try it.
