Mantra Monday: Do something today

In the midst of reading everyone's New Year's Resolutions over the past few days, I happened upon this saying and realized it would be the perfect New Year's Resolutions. Or just a good way to live life every day.

Do something

It just had me thinking about a million little things that I could do today that a I will be grateful I did tomorrow, or next week, or a year from now.

Go to spinning class even though I am feeling lazy.

Take that nap even though my to-do list is a mile long.

Stop letting a lingering project nag me in the back of my mind. Either do it now or just shelve it for good.

I have a tendency to let get lost in the details of things, to get overwhelmed by the enormity of long-term goals, to  procrastinate. Every little change I make in a day can make my day tomorrow, in a week, in a month, in a year, a little healthier, a little less stressful, a little bit happier. Every little change I make in a day can make a giant project a little bit smaller.

I like this idea a lot.

  1. This is a good one, and exactly what I needed this Monday afternoon.

  2. I love this. I too, tend to get lost in details of a project or goal and sometimes get overwhelmed (when really it's nothing to get overwhelmed w/ at all). I also find that as I am getting older, how important it is to take care of myself NOW so that my "future self" will be in better condition.

    Happy New Year to you!!!
