Hearts, Rosettes, and Sparkles!

While I seem to own enough Christmas decorations to cover every square inch of my tiny palace with festive decor, my stash of Valentine's Day decorations is much more limited. So sparse that I do not think I had any until my mom sent me a box with a few decorations.  While I was putting those up, I was in the mood to craft a few more.

I have made a few of fabric rosettes wreaths in the past few months, always using a round wreath. My mom and I found some heart-shaped wreaths at Joann's while I was home for Christmas.  Rather than cover the wreath in fabric strips as I normally do, I decided to cover it with yarn.

Covering something heart-shaped proved to be a wee bit tricky with all of the angles but a little hot glue helped with that. And it kept me busy while watching the Golden Globes on Sunday night. (And a little hot glue also led to the worst hot glue gun burn of my life.)

Fabric rosettes are a great way to use up any fabric strips you might have! There are several tutorials online for them but I found this one by Craftaholics Anonymous to be the most helpful.

Once you make a few rosettes, the process is very natural and you can churn them out rather quickly. It took me under ten minutes to make the five rosettes used in this wreath.

The finished wreath is rather festive, isn't it?

And because I seem to be on a mission to glitterfy the entire alphabet, I made a little LOVE banner

Combined the wreath and banner bring a little Valentine's spirit (and a glitter puddle) to my door!
