Ever since Starbucks removed the Perfect Oatmeal+Latte pairing from its value menu over the summer, I have stood fairly firm in my stance of not patronizing them. Yes, I can hold a grudge. Seriously. But because Starbucks is so ubiquitous in this city (and um, everywhere else) there have been a few occasions that I have found myself in a Starbucks in search of caffeine…or a snack.
Now, I am generally armed and ready with a snack in my MacGyver-like handbag but recently, I was not so prepared and was bordering on hunger induced crankiness. It was not pretty. I peered into the cooler at the Starbucks that I was near (well, one of the four that I was near) and saw something that vaguely looked like a birdhouse. Intrigued, I picked it up and discovered that which has become my go-to snack on the go.
It is the Starbuck Snack-Fulls and inside I found:
- Organic Apple Slices
- Box of Raisins
- String Cheese
- Annie’s Bunny Grahams – Organic & Whole Grain (my favorite part!!!)
- Games on the inside of the box!!!
Yes, it is the Starbucks version of the Kid’s Happy Meal and it definitely makes me happy when I am desperately in need of a snack! It has 270 calories, 10g fat, 9g protein, and 3g fiber. It’s almost a perfectly balanced snacked If they could put a veggie into it, it would be perfection. And at $3.45, well it is fairly affordable as well. (Yes, it would definitely be cheaper to throw together this same mix at home.)
****Note: There appear to be no pics of the Snack-Full anywhere online and in my hunger induced insanity, I failed to snap one with my Blackberry. So I took the one above from the Starbucks Twitter Feed (I think).
