Guest Gift Guide Blogger: “Carmen Sandiego”

 

Carmen Sandiego is another colleague of mine.  Her pseudonym could not be more appropriate.  She is a serious world traveler.  She was in Turkey a few weeks ago and right now, as you read this, she is in Antarctica.  Yes, you read that correctly, Antarctica.  We  are all hoping that she brings a penguin back.  We want be known as “you know, that office with the penguin.”

Headbands ($10)- I cut my hair and then ignore it until the weather turns warm, and it grows into an unkempt mess. A few headbands and barrettes might help the situation when it's in its longer phase.

The Sibley Guide to Birds ($29.99)- I've always wanted a field guide for birds.  I looked out the window of my apartment awhile ago and saw an owl! This bird book got great reviews.

Timex indiglo watch ($30.95)- When I'm in between watches and need a new one, a Timex indiglo watch. I like glow in the dark, numbers, second marks, and a second hand, so I'd pick this version. (Mind you, my current watch has none of these features.)

Splurge Gift

Kindle ($259)- And for my pie in the sky, oh my, that's too expensive, won't it be obsolete, you really want me to be a part of the 21st century gift? A Kindle! (Loaded with my bird book field guide?)
