Pretty Pink Owls and Birdies

There is nothing I love more than a party at the office.  A baby shower, a wedding shower, a retirement party, sign me up!!! One, they are a break from work.  Two, it is nice to see colleagues just having fun and (for the most part) NOT talking about work.

I am also big fan of proper invitations to office parties.  I like invites that stand out and are not just the typical office email.  Creativity, people!!!  Not so surprising is the fact that I love love LOVE to design the invitations to the office parties.

Yes, in my office, the invitations still have to be emailed so that limits the impact of texture and dimension, but those are just tiny roadblocks.  The possibilities are endless.

And I had so much fun designing the invitation to the latest office soiree!

My coworker Natalie  is having a baby girl in January and I am fairly certain that she and her husband Will are going to be the coolest parents ever.  I am slightly concerned about who will take Natalie’s place in our Tuesday morning Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill recap conversations while she is on maternity leave though.

Onto the invites!  Lately, I am VERY into birdies (there is difference between a birdie and a bird, I think, ha) and cute owls.  They are finding their way into a lot of my designs lately.  Luckily, they are also part of the baby’s room decor.

For this invite, the background was all designed using a graphic design program.  The birdies and owl were crafted  using carefully chosen paper (seriously, people, I can and do spend hours in the pretty paper aisle at craft stores), scanned, and then copied and carefully placed on the invite.
